I'm a wrestling mom now!

Not like I don't have a billion other things to do or a night I want to stay home or some free weekends, but Jackson wanted to sign up for wrestling.  So what did mama do???  Yep you guessed it!  Signed him up for wrestling.  It all happened on Monday October 29th.  Yep just 2 shorts days after our football season ended.  I took Jackson solo cause Stephen wanted to stay with Aunt Holly Grace.  (he is obsessed with her!!)  So Jackson and I headed there and we saw a 5 year old boy there with his dad.  I just mentioned it for crazy sakes how old you had to be to wrestle.  They coach said 4.  4 years old.  I am still in shock??  So what did Jackson do?  He came home and asked Stephen if he wanted to wrestle.  Originally I was going to see if there were any karate classes for Stephen at the same time as Jackson did wrestling, but now I can take them both together and its pretty awesome!!!  Here are some pictures of their first practice!!
They ran for 15 minutes.  I am not talking jogging I am talking run run run!!  After running they had other warm ups to do.  They both stayed in line patiently waiting for instructions.

Run to each line and touch it, then run back and then run to the next line.  There were 4 lines.
Next run to each line and do 5 push ups.
Next run to each line and do sit ups.

Bear crawl all the way down.

Don't know what this is called, but they did it all the way back after bear crawls!

After all that conditioning they went to the room with the mats.  This sign hangs in the room.

They sat in a circle for a few minutes and went over some things.

They did more stretching.

and more!

Then they told you to do this!  Not really!!  The only things that were supposed to touch was your head and feet.  No shoulders, back or butt.

Then this!
Stephen stopped really quick and stayed with me the rest of the time.  I do have a cute video of them doing up downs I will try to up load to youtube.  Stephen cried the WHOLE way home and most of the time before bed.  He said he didn't want to go back, he didn't like running, he was a mess.  BUT he did go to practice Tuesday night and did great!!

Marlie's 5th Birthday Party

While watching the Olympics this summer, we realized that would make the perfect theme for Marlie's 5th birthday party.  She was registered to take gymnastics this fall so we decided that an Olympics gymnastics party would be a great combination.  Our friends and family joined us for an afternoon of gymnastics, snacks, cake & presents!
Marlie in action
Flag fruit & cheese
Gold medal cookies
For the second year in a row, we got Marlie's cake from Take the Cake. She does such a wonderful job and is able to do exactly what I request.
Popcorn torches
Marlie had a great time with her friends that she had missed over the summer
The birthday girl and her cake
Proud parents of our 5 year old!  Almost every year since Marlie's first birthday, she has had a super cute birthday shirt from Tara.  This year's gold medal "5" shirt was another hit!

Marlie's School Birthday Celebration

Marlie turned 5 just a few days after school started so she was able to have a small birthday celebration with her class.  Her teacher asked us not to bring cake or cupcakes, but a healthy snack instead.  I came up with a few fun choices for Marlie, and she ultimately chose fruit salsa and cinnamon chips.  Even though it's not really an unusual snack, some kids were still unsure about it.  Of course there were others who wanted more and more!
Marlie's teacher made her a special crown to wear during school and sent her home with a little birthday card.  Marlie chose to go to Jason's Deli for dinner that night and we were joined by my mom, brother and sister.  I think her party and actual birth day were both a success.  I still can't believe she has been in this world for 5 years already!

It's About Me!

Okay, so when I started this month-long daily blogging marathon the purpose was for me to look back at the day to find the heart-smiling, sweet, happiness in the small things...with the kids.  Well, today is about me.  Nothing big, but something that meant a lot to me that only a girl could understand...A HAIRCUT AND NEW COLOR!!!  Yes, I've been putting off getting a haircut (for what reason I'm really not sure) and my color redone.  I always wait until I just have to have a haircut instead of planning ahead and getting it done before it just starts looking nasty every day.  I just love the lady that does my hair.  I have the best time while I'm there.  It is just a relaxing, me time...even if it is only 2 hours.  Sorry, no pictures of the hair.  I should have planned ahead and fixed it up for a picture.  But, in the midst of all the storms going on today, that's not going to happen.

Let's Get to Work

So, I had thought my first blog after taking a month or so off would be about our trip to the beach.  Well, that was the plan.  But, after being unsuccessful at getting the pictures to download, I gave up for a few days.  So, I'm going to blog on something else that I had planned on blogging about soon anyways.

It all started 8 months ago.  I had been struggling with some weight that I really wanted to get off, but working out 4 times a week wasn't getting the job done.  I was frustrated so say the least.  One of my friends had been talking about this nutritional supplement company that her best friend (who I knew from church when we first moved here) had joined as a representative and had had amazing physical results from the products as well as financial success.  So, I thought I'd give it a try in November.  Well, things happened and I never got around to it.  So, finally at the end of December I decided to go ahead and just do it this time.

So, Aaron, my friend Jill and I started using AdvoCare products.  They started off with the AdvoCare cleanse and I did the full 24 Day Challenge which was the same 10 day cleanse Aaron and Jill were doing plus 14 days of the metabolic nutrition system.  By the end of 24 days I was down several inches and 6 pounds.  Now, that is what I was talking about!!!  I had worked and worked to lose weight and nothing was happening and now the weight was finally coming off.

I continued the metabolic nutrition system (MNS) and now I'm down between 17 and 18 pounds and feel TERRIFIC!!!  So, the beginning of May I started really thinking and praying about whether I should just go for it and become an advisor with AdvoCare.  I met with my friend Casey one day for coffee (or frapaccino since this chic doesn't like coffee!) and she told me her and TJs AMAZING story with Advocare which included fully funding the adoption that they had just gone through and being able to give away her gym!  I left there wanting to just do it but was a little nervous all at the same time.  So, I came home and talked it over with Aaron.  He was so supportive.  It really only made since to do it.  So, the next Monday I placed my first order of AdvoCare products and started inviting people to my mixer.  It was such a huge success!!

So many people are looking for great nutrition products and AdvoCare has it.  We have some of the best, well-known doctors that are on our SciMed board that work together to produce the best products for the best results.  We have some very well-known non-paid endorsers that use the products and LOVE them.  It is nothing more than great nutrition and good eating habits.  No magic pill in a box.  Just great nutrition.  Once you get the great nutrition in your body that it needs, your body will respond.  And, I am living proof of that!

I am so anxious to see what the next 90 days have in store for me.  I want to build an amazing business and help people change their lives both physically and financially!!
